A New Jersey volunteer firefighter has been sentenced to 4{ to 13{ years in prison for killing an off-duty New York City police officer in a fit of road rage while driving drunk.

Prosecutors said 25-year-old Robert Derian of Saddle River, N.J,. became angry after Eric Concepcion sped past him on a motorcycle on Aug. 14, 2006.

They said Derian had a blood alcohol level 50 percent over the legal limit when he chased and ran over the 27-year-old officer and then sped away.

Derian was convicted in May of second-degree manslaughter and drunken driving.
