Thousands of people who claim they were injured by asbestos in products made by W.R. Grace & Co. could receive a combined $3 billion under a proposed settlement, the company announced yesterday. The settlement would create a trust fund composed of cash, future payments and 10 million stock warrants to cover current and future asbestos claims. W.R. Grace, a diversified chemical company, has been embroiled in scores of asbestos claims and one of the most complex reorganization efforts in history since filing for bankruptcy protection in 2001
